Orion Oaks Elementary
On Sept. 11, 2019, Lake Orion Community Schools' Bond Architect GMB A+E presented the conceptual plans for the renovated Orion Oaks Elementary school to the LOCS Board of Education.
A design team is working to create a new office.
Orion Oaks has unique needs for a new office to vastly improve its security where visitors enter.
The former office space will become a new STEM lab, one additional classroom and redesigned parking for improved traffic flow.
The team discussed the layout of the teacher work room, making it more efficient.
The construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2020 and conclude in the fall of 2020.
The building entry was discussed, along with the locker count and setup. (Sept. 11)
The design team discussed a more traditional front entrance and where the front entrance door will be located, where the cabinets will be located in each classroom, the layout of the renovated office and the location of the dumpster and garbage pickup. (Aug. 28 Update)
Design teams continue to refine the building plans, discussing a more logical drop off and pickup for SACC.

- The secure entrance is being designed so that visitors must be buzzed in after appearing on a camera and will receive a printed badge for identification in the office before they can enter the rest of the building.
